The Gatteschi-Crudeli palace is located in the historic center of Poppi in Casentino, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, located in a geographical position easily reachable from both Florence and Arezzo (SR 70).
The ancient palace overlooks the churchyard of the Romanesque church of San Fedele (late 10th century), a place of religious historical interest for the various artifacts contained within its library.
Accessible by car, large public parking located just below the building.

Outside description:
The building is on three levels including the ground floor, has also a basement for cellars and funds that can be accessed from the back; The main façade overlooks Via Cavour, the ancient Borgo of Poppi.

Access portal and windows are framed by linear Serene stone (typical Tuscan stone), the surface is plastered;
The surface of the rear elevation of the building is not stone-faced; on the back there is an interesting example of an Italian garden, surrounded in part by the ancient city walls, which can also be accessed from a side portal.
The space still presents those that are typical of that type of garden that has developed since the sixteenth century: small flower beds divided by regular and symmetrical paths.
Beyond the wall there is another plot of land owned by the Gatteschi family.

Description Interiors:
The building is composed entirely of double-height rooms both on the ground floor and on the first floor; the volume ends with a floor used as attics.
The entrance leads into a large hall covered by a pavilion vault decorated centrally by a fresco, worthy of note is the adjacent reception hall, covered by a vaulted pavilion.
Also on the ground floor is the room where Tommaso Crudeli, poet and writer who lived in the first half of the eighteenth century, died; covered with a pavilion vault; among the rooms on the ground floor there is also a private chapel, a living room, a kitchen with a large fireplace, a study, a utility room and two bathrooms.
The kitchen leads to the mezzanine, where the laundry and two service rooms are located.
Through a staircase you reach the rooms on the first floor, also like those on the ground floor very large, covered with simple wooden ceilings, furnished with furniture of the late nineteenth century.
The basement floor consists of a stable, a garage, a cistern and a cellar; from here you can directly enter the back garden.
